Happy Sunday! This is the third Sunday of Advent. The rose colored candle is lit today, for those who have an Advent wreath. This color represents joy and the fullness of the anticipation of Christmas.

Joy This Advent

Joy is my favorite word, my favorite emotion. Anytime I think of it, it brings a smile to my face. Joy is a burst of love on the inside of you. It is an overabundance of peace, complete peace.

I love all things personal development. I attended Brendon Burchard’s Growth Day Summit a few years ago and one of his sayings is “Bring the Joy”. At his conference, I was chosen one day to sit in the “Bring the Joy” seats in the first few rows. What an honor! I want people to remember me for the joy I bring to the table. I have a hat I wear sometimes that says, “Spread Joy”. How can we not be joyful for this life we have been given if we truly believe that Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives? If He lives inside of us, how can we let Him live within us without joy? It’s unthinkable to me.

Advent Joy

So this third Sunday of Advent, I eagerly await the coming of Christmas and the Christ child. Jesus has come to save the world. He comes to save you and me. How can we not await his arrival with JOY?

What is one or two ways in which you can spread a little joy this week to others as you await the birth of Christ? Write down a couple of action steps. Put it in your journal. Make a list and do it. Then watch how your joy will spread to others.

I pray for you. May you find the joy that Christ offers in the salvation of souls. Seek Him with your whole heart this Advent and Christmas season.

God bless. –Barb
